c p chamberlain I absolutely love this collection, not a duffer amongst them. I hadn't even realised that it was the guys from Circulus (who i also adored) having bought it on reading that they supported the Med Baebes. My most played album of the year and frequently listened to whilst mucking out the horses.:-)

about

“We’re here to make you happy,
We’re here to make you jive,
We’re here to make you party like it’s 1555!”

It is with the greatest pleasure that we present to you the tunes we have collected herein.
After many years of study and practice, here is the first recording of some of our favourite pieces – the way we see them – the way we feel them.

21 ditties to warm your tootsies. Come cavort with us a while, in forgotten gardens and half-remembered loves, that await your dalliance.
The sundials are dumb with moonlight - now's our chance!

Who are The Princes?
Michael Tyack – vocals, lute, cittern, saz, female impersonations & bells
William Summers – vocals, flutes, recorders, crumhorns, shawm & rauschpfeife
Antony Elvin – vocals, big drum, little drum, bells, wooden frog, tambourine & mouth cymbal

All three Princes played in the band Circulus.

The Times review - Port Eliot Festival by Will Hodgkinson
‘Perhaps best-suited to performing in the gardens of a 700- year-old castle was Princes in the Tower. This is a flamboyant three-piece, that plays early music on crumhorn, cittern (early guitar) and drum but in a slightly unhinged fashion. The Princes kicked up a Tudor storm and their mixture of virtuosity, authenticity and anarchy was inspiring.’

And in those moonlit nooks of gardens, you might be drawn to soft lute or pipe, in a spinney in the privet - for we really do roam the moony English land.
Soonly, we shall fetch another collection of songs, from the hold of our mind galleon.
Until then, look out for us!
